It's been just over 8 months since we launched our MVP of Basefront and it's been great to see how people are turning their existing data into awesome products, resources + more. Today I'm excited to announce the completely revamped Basefront platform is launching in early April around 4 weeks away! This major update delivers powerful new capabilities while enhancing the core experience you already love.

Introducing more data sources

Connect to more of your existing data with our new integration support for Google Sheets, Baserow, and Xano. Seamlessly pull information from wherever you or your team stores it.

The current version supports gallery + list views and I am super happy to announce we will now be offering a fully customizable and bespoke table/grid view that you can populate with your fields and style how you like.

Field Management upgrades

Organizing, adding or removing your fields is now effortless with our new drag-to-reorder functionality. Quickly customize your data structure to match your exact layout + content needs now with proper field ordering in both the grid view and pop-up detail view.

Instant Theme Switching

Quickly change the look and feel of your entire project with instant theme switching and improved style controls, making visual customization faster than ever. You'll be able to change the colors, typography and overall template a whole lot quicker with this update.

Your data security is our priority. We've updated the way your airtable credentials are loaded, providing an additional layer of protection for your sensitive information and a bullet proof method to ensure no data is can ever be accesed .

We've rebuilt Basefront from the ground up using React, creating a faster, more responsive experience while enabling rapid feature development in the future.

Enhanced Detail Views
We're introducing field block sections into the modal or dropdown view so you can quickly assign fields to the title or body section. This means you can create separate areas and apply pre-defined styling to all fields within an area instantly removing the need to individually style fields one by one like at current.

Buttons, dividers + more
Add buttons, dividers, and other UI elements anywhere in your cards or detail views. With this update you can visually break up field content using dividers and add multiple buttons in either the card view or detail view.

Multi-View Embedding
Combine multiple views on a single page to create powerful dashboards and interfaces that present information exactly how your team needs to see it.

This is phase one of a larger product update and we will also be launching full site publishing and more enhancements in the summer this year. For now the main purpose was really around tightening up the best bits of what's working currently and adding in a few more essential requirements. We also put a focus on ensuring our embedded solution works seamlessly, then we will get moving on further developments shortly after.
